Fall Bucket List

The fall season is full of exciting things: back to school time, the changing colors of leaves, football and the start of holiday season. It’s a time of change, new adventures and refocusing. There’s a lot going on, and it can be easy to hit Thanksgiving and wonder where the time went. Take full advantage of the season by creating a fall bucket list to help guide your weekend (or weekday!) adventures.

Here are some ideas to make this great fall season:

  • Pick apples at an orchard
  • Take a weekend camping trip
  • Make your own pumpkin spice latte
  • Cheer for your local high school football team
  • Make veggie stock
  • Go to your neighborhood’s fall festival celebration
  • Roast root veggies and squash for a filling meal
  • Shop the thrift stores for the perfect sweater
  • Enjoy the fall colors — go for a long drive, take a hike, bike around a park or take a train
  • Start composting in your backyard
  • Take a class and learn a new subject or skill
  • Write a letter to your favorite aunt
  • Celebrate Oktoberfest at a local festival or brewery
  • Take an evening stroll with homemade apple cider
  • Start a puzzle (go to the thrift store to get one on the cheap)
  • Enjoy a lazy weekend morning in bed, with hot tea and journal in hand
  • Plan a Halloween movie night (Hocus Pocus, Halloween, Beetlejuice, Night of the Living Dead)
  • Learn how to can pickles
  • Make your own Halloween costume (more creative and less waste!)
  • Run a Thanksgiving 5k
  • Try out a new local coffee roaster
  • Binge on Stranger Things 2
  • Bake a pumpkin pie from scratch
  • Organize a family hike
  • Get crafty — make your own 2018 calendar, knit a scarf, decorate your front window with homemade flags
  • Read a classic book

How are you celebrating the season?
